Geelong Handrails was engaged to design, fabricate and install a full DDA compliant handrail and balustrade system across multiple locations of Ballarat High School as part of a major accessibility upgrade to the school's external access points.
The scope covered 175 linear metres across 6 separate ramp locations, utilising a combination of ramp handrails, wall mount handrails and vertical balustrade infill panels — all fabricated and installed in accordance with AS 1428.1 DDA compliance requirements.
A key challenge on this project was delivering a full installation programme within a live school environment - with students and staff on site throughout. Our team coordinated closely with the head contractor to stage works around the school timetable, maintaining site safety and minimising disruption to daily school operations at every stage of the project.
